GENESIS is a fully integrated structural finite element analysis and design optimization software package. Analysis capabilities include: static, normal modes, direct and modal frequency analysis, random response analysis, heat transfer, and system buckling calculations.
Design Studio for GENESIS is a design oriented pre- and post-processor graphical user interface for the GENESIS program. Other VR&D products include: SMS sigensolver, VisualDOC, DOT – Design Optimization Tools, and BIGDOT.
VisualDOC is a multidisciplinary design, optimization, and process integration software. It is a tool for design process definition, integration, execution, and automation. The design modules included are Optimization, Design of Experiments, Response Surface Approximation, and Probabilistic (Robust and Reliability-based) Analysis. VisualDOC can be used to add these modules to almost any analysis program
ESLDYNA is based on the Equivalent Static Loads (ESL) method to perform optimization based on a nonlinear finite element analysis with GENESIS as the structural optimization program. ESLDYNA takes advantage of the capability of GENESIS, a linear structural optimization program, to solve large scale optimization problems based on the responses from a nonlinear finite element analysis. It also helps to significantly reduce the design time by identifying high performance designs with five to ten nonlinear analyses.
GENESIS Structural Optimization for ANSYS® Mechanical (GSAM) is an integrated extension that adds Structural optimization to the ANSYS® environment. GSAM can perform topology optimization as well as topography, freeform, sizing and topometry design.
SMS Eigen Solver is used for solving large-scale eigenvalue problems exceptionally quick than that of the traditional Lanczos method. GENESIS uses the SMS in addition to Lanczos and SMS is also available as an add on feature for users of other Nastran.
BIGDOT is intended to solve very large, linear or nonlinear, constrained problems where gradient information is available. BIGDOT is capable of solving continuous, discrete/integer, and mixed variable problems. Problems with excess of three million design variables has been solved by BIGDOT.
